Same-Day Turnover Cleaner Photo Proof Checklist

What to ask cleaners to send before you mark a short-term rental guest-ready when the next check-in is only hours away.

The problem with "done"

On a same-day turnover, the host usually does not need a long report. They need enough proof to know the property can be released for the next guest.

A simple cleaner proof flow should answer four questions: what was cleaned, what was restocked, what needs attention, and whether the property is guest-ready before check-in.

Keep the handoff short.

Ask for the same shots every turnover, a quick restock note, any issue photos, and one final "Property ready" message. That is easier to repeat than a long custom checklist.

Photos to ask for every turnover

  • Entry and lock area Door closed, lockbox or smart lock area, entry floor, and any welcome setup.
  • Kitchen Counters, sink, stove, fridge interior, trash area, coffee setup, and visible supply basics.
  • Bathrooms Sink, toilet, shower or tub, towels, paper supply, mirror, floor, and any amenity setup.
  • Bedrooms Beds made, floors clear, visible linens, bedside surfaces, closet or luggage area if relevant.
  • Living area Sofa, tables, floors, remote controls, lamps, thermostat, and final staging.
  • Supply areas Toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, soap, towels, linens, coffee, and backup guest items.
  • Issue areas Damage, stains, odors, leaks, missing items, dead batteries, or anything that needs repair.
  • Final ready view A final room or entry shot paired with a short "Property ready" status.

What to record besides photos

Photos show condition, but they do not always capture operating problems. Ask for a short note when supplies are low, when something is missing, or when a small repair needs a vendor.

The best format is not complicated: room, issue, photo if needed, urgency, and whether it blocks check-in.

Cleaner message template

Photos sent: entry, kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, living area, supplies, issue areas.

Restock gaps: [item + quantity or "none"].

Issues found: [photo + short note or "none"].

Final status: Property ready / not ready because [reason].

When this becomes a system

If you manage more than one property, or if you rely on backup cleaners, the same proof flow matters more than the exact app you use. The repeated language is what makes the handoff predictable.

That is why the Guest-Ready Turnover Kit pairs a room-by-room turnover checklist with photo proof, restock tracking, issue notes, vendor contacts, and a maintenance log.
